We're seeking a dynamic and visionary CTO to lead our AI company's journey in mitigating the risks of generative AI. In this pivotal role, you'll be driving synergy and collaboration between the Research and Engineering departments to push the boundaries of AI safety and reliability.


Responsibilities and Duties 

Designing the Software Development Lifecycle Process: 

  • Translating requirements into scalable, maintainable, extensible software systems. 
  • Adding quality assurance protocols. 
  • Creating agile delivery processes. 

Responsible for the Scientific Initiatives: 

  • Define the research & innovation roadmap in alignment with the business needs 
  • Translate the scientific requirements into well-defined research projects and work packages. 
  • Supervise the work of the scientific staff. 
  • Mentor scientists in different scientific matters (NLP, data science, and AI in general). 

Monitoring Products: 

  • Reporting errors and performance issues. 
  • Providing solutions for optimization. 

Research and Development: 

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, innovations, and trends, including AI and data science, and assess their potential to improve the organization's operations. 
  • Oversee research and development efforts to create cutting-edge products or services. 
  • Researching and learning exciting new technologies (e.g. Web3). 

Team Leadership: 

  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering and scientific team, including software developers, engineers, research & data scientists, and other technical professionals. 
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. 

Risk Management: 

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to technology, including cybersecurity threats and data breaches. 
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans. 

Budgeting and Resource Allocation: 

  • Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently. 
  • Work closely with other executives to align technology investments with overall business priorities. 

Compliance: 

  • Ensure that the organization complies with relevant laws and regulations related to technology and data management. 


Education, required experience and skills:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, telecommunication technologies, or similar. 
  • Master’s degree in AI, NLP, data science, or similar. 
  • Experience required: 
  • +5 years as a developer and/or scientist. 
  • +3 years as a scientific and technical team manager and coordinator. 
  • +3 years of managing R&D teams (in person and remotely). 
  • Knowledge about the most market demanded technologies. Back-end and front-end languages, DBs, CI/CD, Cloud Services, third-party solutions, etc. 
  • Good knowledge of concepts of Software Design Patterns and best practices (e.g. SOLID). 
  • Experience in working in a team with an agile software development process. 
  • Advanced knowledge of one of the following technologies: keras, tensorflow, pytorch, or JAX. 
  • Advanced experience with text classification, sequence labeling, model selection & evaluation, and result analysis. 
  • Languages: Fluent in English with Spanish/German as optional but good to have. 
  • Critical thinker, good communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Team player with the ability to work individually. 
  • Digital and user-centric mindset and attention to detail and quality. 

 

Preferred skills and experience: 

  • PhD in AI, NLP, deep learning, or similar. 
  • Experience in startup environments.
